Great care goes into matching patients with a practitioner who will be the right fit for them, whether they are here for a short-term need or life-long condition. We are a team of problem solvers with exceptional skills and experience in our respective areas of expertise. We are also a team with diverse personalities and interests, providing a range of options for our patients.

“I care about what patients are going through. I want to get to know them. I don’t want them to feel intimidated or scared about what’s to come…”

Inspired by a speaker from Shriners Hospitals for Children, Brittany was in high school when she began mapping out a path toward becoming a prosthetist/orthotist. It was a career that would combine everything she loves – science, working with her hands, helping people, and problem solving on the fly. Her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute provided her with strong engineering and problem solving experience, while her Masters of Science in Prosthetic & Orthotics from Baylor College School of Medicine in Houston, Texas added extensive patient experience. A native of western Massachusetts, Brittany first came to Prosthetics & Orthotics, LLC, to complete an internship while in graduate school. Her technical skills and the ease with which she connected with patients were a natural fit for our practice, so we were thrilled when she accepted a position with us after earning her master’s degree.

A board certified prosthetist, Brittany embraces our team’s philosophy of collaboration, beginning with her patients. To feel empowered and to make informed choices, patients need to understand their conditions and treatment plans.

Says Brittany, “I care about what patients are going through. I want to get to know them. I don’t want them to feel intimidated or scared about what’s to come. I will walk them through the process and make sure they are comfortable, whether it’s for a prosthesis or a brace.”

Brittany particularly appreciates our on-site lab and the way our practitioners and technicians work together. It gives her the freedom to make immediate modifications herself or collaborate with the technicians without having to send a device out for repair. She believes this stands out in comparison to other facilities and that patients benefit because everyone gets to know them well. It facilitates problem solving and develops trust that the final product will be the best fit for them.

Brittany’s special interests include prosthetics and working with adolescents with scoliosis, but she enjoys treating patients with any need. For those just beginning the process, Brittany shares this important advice: “Do not be afraid to do your own research and ask questions. Be comfortable with who’s treating you and know that you always have options.”
